We did it! MGA Thermal has won the 2025 Australian Renewable Heat Award for Outstanding Industrial Electrification Project for our 5 MWh Demonstration Unit. This industry recognition further validates the capabilities of our technology, which the team spent over a decade developing, testing, and refining, culminating in the official launch of our demonstration unit earlier this year. The successful operationalisation of the demonstration unit represented a critical milestone for MGA Thermal, shifting our first-of-a-kind Electro-Thermal Energy Storage (ETES) system from a concept into a commercially viable solution ready for deployment.

After more than ten years of development and breakthrough materials engineering, MGA Thermal’s world-first steam-integrated latent heat Electro-Thermal Energy Storage (ETES) system — capable of dispatching industrial-grade steam from renewable energy — has now gone live.

We are thrilled to announce MGA Thermal, has been selected by Chevron to conduct an initial engineering and design study for an innovative clean steam solution. This study marks a significant milestone for MGA Thermal and underscores the growing importance of decarbonisation technologies in the energy sector. The study focuses on the application of MGA Thermal’s clean steam solution on a 5MWh trial unit designed for a Chevron site.
