About MGA Thermal

Our Story

MGA Thermal is an Australian clean‑energy innovator enabling heavy industry to decarbonise through thermal energy storage.

Our Electro-Thermal Energy Storage (ETES) system, in combination with our patented MGA Blocks, deliver reliable, low-cost industrial-grade heat, helping customers shift away from fossil fuels, towards renewable energy.

Founded in 2019 after more than a decade of materials‑science research at the University of Newcastle, we’ve grown from a breakthrough idea into a globally focused operation tackling one of the most significant challenges in climate and energy: industrial heat.

Heat accounts for 42% of industrial energy use in Australia and 25% globally, yet remains one of the least decarbonised sectors. Our next‑generation technology directly targets this gap, enabling industrial and manufacturing businesses to cut costs and cut carbon without compromising performance.

As we expand our team, partnerships, and commercial deployments, MGA Thermal is shaping the future of clean industrial energy and positioning Australia as a leader in thermal‑storage innovation.
